Job Description

Gore Medical Products has provided creative therapeutic solutions to complex medical problems for 35 years, saving and improving the quality of lives worldwide. As a leading manufacturer of vascular grafts, endovascular and interventional devices, surgical meshes for hernia repair, and sutures, we are looking for a Materials Planner to join our Planning team in Flagstaff, AZ.

In this role, you will support commercial production and new-product development by performing materials planning, managing raw-material and work-in-process inventory, and generating work orders for multiple product lines.

The ideal candidate will:

Responsibilities include:

  • Interacting with manufacturing to maintain optimal raw-materials inventory
  • Managing inventory to maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Performing ERP system maintenance, including generating new part numbers and maintaining bills of materials, planning parameters, and data integrity
  • Working with manufacturing to maintain kanban-based replenishment systems
  • Partnering with purchasing and internal supply-plant planners to ensure communication of changes to material demand, facilitate effective material movement, and maintain appropriate inventory levels
  • Understanding the processes and driving improvements to flow and cycle-time reduction
  • Developing effective relationships with manufacturing associates, other planners, leadership, internal customers, suppliers, and purchasing associates
  • Providing timely communication of issues that affect manufacturing supply
  • Joining new-product development teams as needed to help with product configuration in ERP and PLM and plan for adequate supply of materials to meet development and commercial production launch needs
  • Managing and updating performance measures
  • Performing other duties as required by the team


Qualifications

Required Job Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a technical or related field; equivalent work experience will be considered
  • Experience working with ERP in a manufacturing environment
  • Track record of:
    • Initiative and continuous improvement
    • Reliability and completing commitments
  • Demonstrated project-management skills
  • Strong written and oral communication as well as listening skills
  • Proficiency working within Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Learn quickly and effectively apply the learning
    • Work in a team-oriented environment and navigate constructively through conflict
Desirable Job Qualifications

  • APICS certification in production and inventory management
  • Experience working with and applying lean manufacturing principles, including kanban, error-proofing measures, and value stream/process mapping
