Job Description

Gore Medical Products has provided creative therapeutic solutions to complex medical problems for 35 years, saving and improving the quality of lives worldwide. As a leading manufacturer of vascular grafts, endovascular and interventional devices, surgical meshes for hernia repair, and sutures, we are looking for an Electrical/Controls and Automation Engineering Technician to join our team in Flagstaff, AZ.

In this role, you will work with new-product development, manufacturing, machine design, and shop/maintenance teams to support the design, build, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing and test equipment.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Recognize the importance of building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing equipment documentation, including electrical schematics, panel layouts, setup documents, and operation manuals (approximately 50% of time)
  • Preparing as-built electrical documentation
  • Assisting engineering in current and accurate qualification of new equipment
  • Assisting in selecting electrical components for control systems
  • Ensuring component datasheetsare maintained and updated
  • Determining electrical-component wiring requirements
  • Reviewing equipment designs for compliance with electrical standards
  • Creating bill of materials and coordinating parts procurement for equipment builds
  • Maintaining best practices by communicating with associates performing similar functions


Qualifications

Required Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree in an electrical field, OR 3 years' experience in electrical design, construction, and documentation of equipment
  • Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical
  • Working knowledge of electrical standards such as NFPA 79 and NEC
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to comply with safe electrical practices
  • Excellent skills in drafting electrical design documents
  • Comfortable working in a team environment
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented

Desirable Job Qualifications

  • Experience in/with:
    • Electrical troubleshooting and equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment
    • Motion control
    • One or more machine-control programming languages
    • The medical-device or other regulated industry
    • Drafting pneumatic, hydraulic, and P&ID documents
    • SolidWorks and Enterprise PDM
  • Knowledge of industrial-control concepts, such as RS232 and Ethernet communications protocols, distributed I/O, and analog and digital signal processing
  • A work style of hands-on involvement in all phases of a project
  • Ability to configure and start up control systems
