As a leading manufacturer of vascular grafts, endovascular and interventional devices, surgical meshes for hernia repair, and sutures, we are looking for a Tooling Coordinator to join our Tooling team in Flagstaff, AZ.

The ideal candidate will:

Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating tooling activities within and across Aortic facilities
- Partnering with:
- Appropriate technical and manufacturing associates to understand and establish the priorities within the Tooling team
- The Environmental Health and Safety team to establish safe work practices and ergonomic improvements
- Production/manufacturing to ensure the Tooling team is meeting manufacturing needs
- Implementing measurable improvements using OPEX and Lean manufacturing practices
- Working closely with manufacturing, new-product development teams, engineering, and plant technical leaders to create a vision tooling requirements and ensure tooling requirements are met
- Understanding inspection techniques and ensuring capabilities are in place to support them
- Ensuring compliance to the Medical Products Division quality system
- Working with:
- The Purchasing team to identify critical-parts inventory as it relates to tooling
- Maintenance and calibration coordinators for consistent SOP practices and new tooling standards
- Evaluating existing preventive maintenance for tooling and improving the process for proactive preventive maintenance
- Coordinating time lines and priorities for tooling across the multifunctional teams
- Communicating tooling activities, improvements, matrixes, and updates to leadership teams that the Tooling team supports (shop leaders, QA, manufacturing, engineering, plant technical leaders, plant leaders, etc.)
- Establishing visual work boards within the team to track projects, accomplishments, and future requirements
- Developing working relationships within the Tooling team and encouraging high levels of communication and transfer of information
- Establishing and maintaining Aortic Tooling communication meetings
- Evaluating and executing changes in staffing requirements and asset resources (associates and equipment)
- Participating in associate development within the Tooling team
- Practicing and promoting the Gore culture
Qualifications
Required Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline, OR a 2-year degree plus at least 3 years' related experience
- Mechanical aptitude
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to partner with associates in all functions across plants
- Extensive computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio; Lotus Notes)
- Detail-oriented
- Organized
- Ability to:
- Lead a team committed to inspection and maintenance of tooling
- Organize effective and efficient teams
- Drive change and consistency across teams
- Work independently as well as be part of a diverse team
- Develop strategies and work with others to successfully execute the strategies in a timely manner and measure progress
Desirable Job Qualifications
- Degree in an industrial engineering discipline or similar
- Hands-on experience with tooling and machinery
- Proven track record of motivating teams and developing followership
