Salary: Annually: $43,885.00 - $50,467.00
Note: This position is a limited appointment for twelve months. Under general supervision performs grant management duties of considerable difficulty in the researching, monitoring, and applying for available county related grants; performs other related work as assigned.

• Maintains knowledge of available public health grants, informs divisions of available grants, and coordinates grant compliance
• Researches, develops and composes funding proposals, grant applications and related documents
• Verifies documents to assure grant related clauses, certifications, and conditions are met
• Assists contractors and consultants with questions regarding contract and agreements, paperwork, guidelines, procedures, laws and regulation as they pertain to grant requirements
• Responsible for grant proposals, agreements, and pertinent attachments
• Identifies, engages and collaborates with partners for each grant
• Supports and maintains coalitions through routine contact and joint planning and development activities
• Compiles data and works with staff to create necessary documents
• Researches eligible grant funding opportunities
• Researches executes and trains staff on performance measures into new and existing programs to track success
• Performs other job related functions or duties as assigned
Essential functions of this position include: sitting, working at a desk and computer; working with and around others; working alone, working with interruptions; repetitive motion (hand/wrist) (elbow/shoulder) for data entry; color vision; hearing and speech for ordinary conversation; and touch (finger dexterity) for completing computer work.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, public health or related field and three or more years of experience directly related to grants administration OR, any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
This position is exempt from overtime.
The ideal candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills; be able to work independently with limited oversight; must be competent researcher; must be able to facilitate group discussion and reach consensus.
Preferences: Experience in a public health agency, experience writing successful grant applications, group faciitation experience, bilingual (English and Spanish, Navajo or Hopi.)
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Considerable knowledge of:
- Principles and practices of grant programs, application procedures, and administrative requirements
- Principles and practices of grant accounting, reporting principles, internal controls and record keeping techniques
- Principles and practices of grant policies and regulations applicable to various local, state and federal funding agencies
- Science and practice of public health
• Working knowledge of:
- Generally accepted accounting and auditing principles and practices
- Practices, procedures, and principles of grant administration
- Computer software related to word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
- Federal, state, and local laws, policies, and guidelines governing public funds administration
- Business English and report writing
• Ability to:
- Prepare and present narrative and written reports within deadlines
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with project managers, all divisions, contractors, consultants, auditors, and the general public
- Maintain a high degree of organization, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Understand, interpret, and communicate, grant, and financial terminology
- Learn grant related terminology and project management principles and procedures
- Inspect and track varied grant projects and to monitor appropriate paperwork, authorizations, and signatures
- Coordinate and communicate with parties involved in the grant and financial administration of on-going projects
- Organize and coordinate multiple tasks.
- Work safely and support the culture of workplace safety
